The main hall had lots of room and the village gave us something to do after the main lunch.

Sept 30, 2015...please change the hours of operation online to "CLOSED FOR THE SEASON" as stated on the sign at the entrance.... wasted an afternoon going there for nothing.

Explore the very complete old town display of 1000s of items, and daily life back then.

We haven't been here as visitors but to attend an outdoor wedding that meant guest had access to the main museum building. The collection is extensive and quite interesting from photos to clothing and devices! There are ramps to access the buildings, making it fully accessible.

The Founders Museum is a place worth visiting, especially for those of us who have lived in the area for most of our lives!

This is a gem and totally worth the visit! So many historical artifacts from the late 1800s are set up in buildings from the same period...it is a great place to see if you are a history buff and even if you aren't. There are old cars and tractors and farm equipment, an old church and schoolhouse, fully stocked general store, and the list goes on. It's worth the short drive out of Thunder Bay to see this wonderful museum and pioneer village!
