PS Yes. I do realize that "mistakes" do happen at times. However in this case my opinion is that they attempted highway robbery....was management aware?? was it the tech in the back? was it the counter staff??....it's a small shop with no more than ten employee's. More than likely an owner/operator.......only an idiot would tell a customer that the tie rod end he had changed THE DAY BEFORE(and must have looked brand new) were bad and needed changing unless they were defective...only an idiot would say "these bolts seize all the time" when there is A BRAND NEW control arm in the vehicle.....if in fact the parts were bad they should have suggested that I return to the previous shop and have that shop address it under warranty..ANY OTHER SHOP SHOULD HAVE OR WOULD HAVE!!(I hope at least). I know that shops with GOOD customer service that do that all the time...when a 3 month old starter goes bad they'll contact the supplier if the customer has an invoice from the previous shop or refer them back.......utter bullshit here......It NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!!!!!.......Someone is a liar. Someone is a thief. Someone thought they could get away with it. Someone has gotten away with it before. How many other times has it happened?? How many times will it happen again?.......I hope it is an isolated event but I won't take any chances.......I'd STRONGLY suggest you/anyone avoid this STOP AND STEER MEMORIAL AVE........maybe an isolated incident(of fraud) but better to be safe than sorry

I've recommended Stop N' Steer to about a dozen friends, and all have come away happy. You can't put a price on an honest mechanic.

I had my ford f150 at another local shop for some front end repairs including an upper control arm and two outer tie rod ends. The control arm and one tie rod end were supplied through the shop. The other tie rod end was supplied by me the customer. Not having an alignment rack, It was recommended to me to have one done. I was at Stop and Steer Memorial Ave the following morning and called the installing shop saying that the Stop and Steer was "calling" BOTH outer tie rod ends as bad or needing changing. Stop and Steer also claimed that the eccentric bolts (upper control arm bolts) always seize and would have to be changed with new($85 each TIMES 4 from ford only). The estimate prepared for me was almost $900.The estimate itself wasn't out of line . Reasonable labour for the work they claimed needed doing IF THE TRUCK INDEED NEEDED THOSE PARTS!. I took the truck back to the installing shop to re inspect the front end of the truck(one defective part maybe. two from different suppliers is unlikely). AFTER PAYING A $40 inspection fee to Stop and Steer(or they wouldn't release my truck) I DID bring it back and they confirmed that neither tie rod end(both one day old) were NOT defective and confirmed to the customer that they had just had "no problem" with at least two of the upper concentric bolts when changing the upper control arm. The installers say that that they have NEVER had to replace a concentric bolt on a 1997 and up ford f150. The installing shop quickly made a call to Tony at an unnamed muffler shop across from a ford dealership and arranged an appointment for an alignment that very day. No defects were found with the front end. Alignment was performed. I was/am on the road and happy with his services and the assistance from the installing shop. College of Trades was informed. Receipts and estimates were provided to their representative in person although no formal review was requested by either me nor the installing shop.. I do NOT know of any consequences or even any outcome.

The shop and the guys were great. I had a breakdown and have my truck towed in at about 9 AM. Because I was traveling through town, they made some scheduling changes and got me in very quickly. My wheel bearing hub had blown apart along with the CV joint halfshaft and damaged the brake caliper as well. They had me in and out in just a couple hours. Fair prices, considering the high quality parts they put in. Definitely saved my trip. Highly recommend them.

I do not and will NOT suggest Stop and Steer to ANY of my friends or family now nor in the future. In MY opinion they attempted fraud. Add insult to injury and they coerced me for an "inspection" fee..........outright dishonestly......outright lies....avoid this shop like STD's...places like this (or at least the management Sept 2015) give the rest of them a bad name. If I'm are not happy with a shops location or services, I will go ANYWHERE ELSE BUT NOT STOP AND STEER. I'm not one to bash shops but if this is their normal, they should be in jail.

The best place in town to have work done on your vehicle. I've been bringing my vehicles to Stop'N Steer shops for the past 7 years, and have never been disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, and upfront.
